While blinging up the BeyondUnreal Google Map, someone asked me if he could import the locations into Google Earth somehow. I started looking and ended up at the KML documentation.

An hour of reading and hacking later, I ended up with a nice KML document generated from the same data as the Google Map. Awesome.

I messed around with the descriptions alot, but couldn’t get the avatar working so far. It’s just not loading the images, possibly because they’re not on the same site. That’d still be odd though, because I’m doing the same with the marker icons.
Another reason might be that it doesn’t support animated gifs yet.

I’m happy with the result though, it’s pretty neat seeing it zoom in on your house. Makes you want to run outside, jump and wave at a satellite you can’t even see with the naked eye.

Yesterday I started hacking Google Maps. I’ve been polishing it up ‘till now, but the infowindow styling is a bit of a problem with variable sized images embedded into it. It sometimes flows out of the box, in Firefox atleast.

The result, however, is still quite nice.
It’s a map of BeyondUnreal forum members. Not very complete, but there’s no location information in the user profiles of the forum I can rely on, so I have to pretty much ask everyone for their location. It’s slowly starting to fill up, though.

...I needed a blog again. It’s been on and off several times. It’s got to stick atleast once.

So what have I been up to, briefly summing it up:

• I’ve been working on Gajim, a really cool Jabber client.
• I’ve start looking over my RoboWar implementation again, if anyone remembers that.
• Serious Sam 2 is bollocks.
• Darwinia rocked on the other hand.
• School, still studying here.
